Digital art

About 9 or 10 years ago I snapped a picture with the intention of using it for a painting. I really enjoying the art process via the ipad. I’d describe this as a work in progress. Started it as a quick exercise supposed to take only an hour. Whoops. Plenty of things to correct and refine but its been a lot of fun to work on.

Playing with Ipad art again

I’m playing with ProCreate on the Ipad 4 right now. I’m fairly happy with the results and the image files transfer quite well to Photoshop for refinement and printing.

I’m having a blast with my new spindle. This is a most thoughtful spindle from an awesome friend and mentor.

Spinning, horses, art…

Beautiful new spindle from the Spanish Peacock and fiber from Miss Babs. This combo is pure decadence. I'm so happy to receive such a thoughtful gift! While I've had less time to spin lately this little beauty has me excited again.

Tried out a wonderful hand braided and dyed bridle/reins set this week. I must learn to do this so I can do some space dyed sets.

Enjoying digital photography.

Working on learning how to paint on the ipad. Using the Procreate App has been very enjoyable.

Odds and Ends…

One of my more recent addictions has been using Pinterest to mine for images that then take me back to new links for research.  It’s a lot of fun.  One of my favorite finds that’s recently come up is the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s ebook collection.  There are a number of publications in it that have to do with the Steppes or surrounding cultures. Some of the books can be downloaded as pdf’s and some are only available for online reading.  There’s a huge number of books that will interest the historical set. Here’s an example.. http://www.metmuseum.org/research/metpublications/Afghanistan_Forging_Civilizations_along_the_Silk_Road

Prepping for the Southeastern Animal Fiber Festival…

This is Romney fleece.  It’s now skirted and ready to be scoured.  When I get it back as clean cloud I believe it’s going to become part of a nomadic saddlepad project.

The Southeastern Animal Fiber Festival is coming up! This year I’m actually attending a Harp conference just down the road.  It’s amazing to me how the harp first led me to fiber and now fiber has led me back to the harp:>.
